CLINIC UPDATES

Happy New Year! We hope that you had a great holiday season and that 2025 is your best year to date. We know that 2025 will be our best because we have new and exciting news to share.

This month, we want to begin with our new blog and newsletter structure. We are changing our blogs from weekly to monthly because we want to key in on certain topics and provide more in depth information to our patients.

New to 2025, we would like to introduce our monthly newsletters. Our newsletters will provide clinic updates, blog highlights, one featured article, health tips, coupons and more.

To receive our monthly newsletter, subscribe to our email list at steinertlaurelmountain93@gmail.com.

BLOG HIGHLIGHT

January’s blog explores the relationship between the human spine and the nervous system. To better understand the chiropractic profession and explain what we do to help patients, you must first understand the protective undercoating of the spinal canal and the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system.

If you haven’t read January’s blog, be sure to catch up. If you don’t subscribe to our emails, be sure to do so by subscribing at steinertlaurelmountain93@gmail.com

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

Life isn’t a matter of milestones, but of moments. – Rose Kennedy

Follow Through With Your New Year’s Resolutions

Did you make a New Year’s Resolution in 2025? Some of the most common New Year’s Resolutions are losing weight, saving money, quitting smoking/drinking, spending more time with family, etc. Did you know that most people give up on their resolutions within the first 6 months?

Whatever your New Year’s Resolution is, there are a few tricks to do that will help you achieve your goals:

  1. Make it realistic- Most people who make New Year’s Resolutions look way too far into the future which leads to missing key elements to success. Focus on the present so that you can achieve bigger goals in the future.
  2. Take baby steps- If you think you are going to achieve your goals in one week, your intentions are unrealistic. Starting small will allow you to learn, to grow and to take on more in the future.
  3. Find someone to guide you- Find a support buddy whether it’s a trainer or another individual trying to accomplish the same or similar goals.
  4. Don’t make too many resolutions- A lot of people make too many resolutions all at once and it becomes overwhelming. Start off small and build up to it. Remember, you don’t have to wait until the New Year to start resolutions.

Our biggest take home message is to stay strong. Do whatever it takes to achieve your goals whether by yourself or with someone guiding you along the way. Think of the physical and mental rewards that come with resolution achievement. Save this newsletter as a confidence booster and as a reminder that you can achieve success if you create a plan and put your mind to it.

STRETCH OF THE MONTH

CHIN TUCKS

Chin tucks help decrease anterior head carriage and improve the cervical curve. It also helps reduce neck pain, muscle tension and headaches.

  • STEP 1: Sit upright in a chair or stool with straight posture
  • STEP 2: Start your head in a jutted forward position. Have two fingers resting on your chin.
  • STEP 3: Gently press your finger into your chest, pushing your head back (double chin in the image above). Hold this position for 3 seconds.
  • STEP 4: Relax to the jutted position and repeat.

**We recommend doing this stretch with 3-5 sets of 10 repetitions 3-5 times a day.**
