CLINIC UPDATES
Easter is just around the corner, and we would like to do something special for our dedicated patients. One lucky winner will win a gift basket filled with different prizes.
When you come to the office for your routine visit, take a guess at how many jellybeans are in the jar. The closest winner will win the jar of jellybeans along with the gift basket.

BLOG HIGHLIGHTS

April’s blog features our non-surgical spinal decompression service. Spinal decompression helps patients who suffer from disc injuries, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, facet syndrome and/or chronic pain.
The blog gives a brief history of spinal decompression and compares traction to spinal decompression. Spinal decompression content will be broken down into a few blogs because there is so much information to learn.

TREATING AUTO ACCIDENTS WITH CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Auto accidents can happen at any time of the year, but April is one of the more common months that collisions happen because of the rainy season and increase risks of hydroplaning. Not to mention, there are still chances of snow in April and risks of sleet.
During a car accident, the body is rotated, twisted, hyperflexed, and/or hyperextended involuntarily in different directions depending on the force of the impact, location of impact on the vehicle, the speed of impact, and whether a seatbelt was worn.
Often, auto accidents occur suddenly with little to no warning. When this occurs, the body doesn’t have enough time to react, thus, causing violent jolts. In other cases, people have full awareness, but not enough reaction time to prevent the accident. When this occurs, there is enough time for a natural flinching response, causing the muscles to tense and act as a guarding mechanism.
The great news is that chiropractors can successfully treat auto injury patients with a specific treatment plan, and the better news is that the auto insurance will cover treatment at no patient cost. If patients get treated consistently and there is documented improvement, insurance companies should not cause any problems.
If you or someone you know was recently in a car accident, please send them our contact information so that we can help them get out of pain and return to normal homeostasis.
STRETCH OF THE MONTH
SIDE BENDS (WITH OR WITHOUT RESISTANCE)

Side bends help stretch the cervical paraspinal movements that will help improve cervical range of motion in all directions.
STEP 1: Bend your head to one side and place the hand on the side your bent to on the top of your head.
STEP 2: Gently use your hand and pull your head to your shoulder until you have reached restriction. Hold for 7-10 seconds.
- If you choose to add resistance, pull your head away from your shoulder as you pulling your head towards your shoulder. Hold for 7-10 seconds.
STEP 3: Relax and perform the same thing on the other side.
STEP 4: Repeat
**We recommend doing this stretch 3-5 sets 2-3 times a day. **
